AFRL is a component of Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC. AFRL leads the development of capability options that meet the needs of the U.S. Air Force, provide rapid solutions in response to urgent warfighter requirements, and conduct long-term research driven by a bold technology vision. There are nine technology directorates addressing different technology challenges, along with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR).
Technological research is performed at ten research sites across the country, representing the future for innovation within AFMC.

Office of Naval Research /Nanoelectronics Program -
The U.S. Office of Naval Research Global provides worldwide science & technology-based solutions to current and future Naval challenges. ONR Global combines the expertise of over 40 scientists, technologists, and engineers with a physical presence on five continents.

The ONR Global team is committed to working with the broad global technical community and the operational Fleet/Force commands to foster cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to bring the full range of possibility to the Navy and Marine Corps.

DARPA -
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is the central research and development organization for the Department of Defense. It manages and directs selected basic and applied research and development projects for DoD, and pursues research and technology where risk and payoff are both very high and where success may provide dramatic advances for traditional military roles and missions.
